Site Map Twenty-nine Sport Models were made for the US. Only 4 are street legal so far. This car is legal under federal government regulation as a museum car only. This 959 (VIN WPOZZZ95ZJS905030), was the first 959 legally imported into the U.S. The engine was rated at 450 hp at 6,500 rpm and 370 lb. ft. of torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine has recently been modified by Bruce Canepa Design in Santa Cruz, California. The stock KKK turbo-chargers were replaced with larger Garrett ball bearing turbo-chargers. The computer was re-mapped and the engine now produces 600+ horsepower. It also meets all EPA and DOT standards which make it street legal in all states. Top speed is 200+ mph.
